Jonas Mekas Programme 2:The Brig & Notes on a Circus

The Brig

USA / 1964 / 68 minutes / Black & White / 16mm

Mekas shot the the 1964 Living Theater production of the play in one night, with a hand-held camera; his film won the Leone D’Oro for Best Documentary at the Venice Film Festival the following year.
